The Mailbox Post VII
Out with old and in with the new ! The mailbox post is finally in it’s place instead of getting in the way in the garage. Getting it in place was done much like the people of Stonehenge must have done to raise those huge stones: dig a hole … let the end fall in … stand it up and brace it … then, in my case, fill a portion of the hole with cement. Of course I also used those aluminum tubes I mentioned in a previous post. They got ‘inserted’ into the hole about 1 1/2′ leaving about 6″ exposed so the cement would surround them. Replacing this post is not going to be on my ‘to do list’ for at least twenty years ! Here’s a good picture of the completed project … mulch and all.

And, yes, in the background you can see a year old project … my first ‘triumphal arch’. Admittedly, it isn’t as proportional as it should be. Sometimes you just don’t see these things until it’s done. Here’s a better picture, anyway.
